在国内首次发展了研究等离子体辐射不透明度的细致谱项和细致能级模型,在国际上首次实现了高Z金等离子体精密辐射不透明度研究的突破,解决了长期以来理论与实验之间的差异,发现了这种差异的物理起源。提出了稠密等离子体中连续原子过程中的连续电子空间瞬时局域化的概念,这一概念的提出,可望解决目前一系列没有解决的问题,如铁等离子体辐射不透明度的增加以及超强x-射线激光与固体相互作用过程中电子碰撞电离过程的增强。发表SCI收录论文100余篇,在国际学术会议做邀请报告10余次。培养博士后、博士研究生10余人,硕士研究生10余人。
